In 2008 Barack Obama made the statement that America is no longer a Christian nation. Though it is true that we are not just a nation made up of Christians, I believe we are still one whose foundations and principles are rooted in the Judeo/Christian faith. Though the influx of outside cultural and religious influence has been increasing since the early 1900's,  America still has it's roots in the Christian faith and those beliefs that made her the great nation that she was and can be again are found in the Bible.

       Over the past several decades we have allowed the immoral elements of our society to take over while the primary export of this country has been our 'Pop Culture' instead of the ethical and moral standards that once were the benchmark of our founders: Truth, Freedom, Equality, Family, Education, Justice, Mercy, Charity, Faith and Love.

       Through the massive influence of media immorality and political correctness America has in many ways forgotten herself and has fallen asleep. It is time to awaken this great nation to the reality of the dangers lurking just around the bend; not just the threat of Islamic terrorism but the reality of what happens to a nation that forgets God and follows after idols. Whether they are idols of false religions, self indulgence or materialism we can see that the Bible is clear as to the outcome: "The stranger that is within thee shall get up above thee very high; and thou shalt come down very low. He shall lend to thee, and thou shalt not lend to him: he shall be the head, and thou shalt be the tail." Deu 28:43-44

       It is hard to ignore the reality that we are seeing the fulfillment of those passages right now in our country. If there is to be a hope for us to survive as a great nation we must return to the Lord. We might want to consider the prayer of the Prophet Jeremiah found in Lamentations 5:1-2  "Remember, O LORD, what is come upon us: consider, and behold our reproach. Our inheritance is turned to strangers, our houses to aliens".
